Do I Need To Write A Blog?



It all depends on what you are trying to achieve with your marketing goals. If you are trying to make a name for yourself as a professional that needs to stand out from others - like a realtor or insurance agent - your building your book of business and need to stand out from all of the competition out there.


If you are an entrepreneur trying to make it and you want to educate your people on your services. Then yes, blogging helps. Blogging also helps with your SEO. If your blog is attached to your website - which I highly recommend - then yes, you definitely will see an increase in your traffic. Search engines crawl for keywords when a user types in a request. For instance, you type into the search engine bar "where do I find a social media manager?" the search engines will crawl for these words, if these words are in your blog, your website, your social media posts, then this will help you pop up on the results page higher than those that aren't. Note that this does take time for the crawlers to learn about you, but consistency will pay off.


How often should you write in your blog? Well it again depends on what you do, what your goals are and how much time you have. If you are a traveler and blogging is your main source of income, then definitely yes daily. If you are an entrepreneur that has a service -based business, weekly such suffice. Monthly is a good place to start but if you really want to up up your game and power up your online presence, weekly is the way to go.


What about having guest bloggers? Yes this will help immensely as they will share the post with their people and you can help them by of course, sharing with yours. Just make sure the content is relevant to your followers.


What if I don't have the time to blog right now? No problem, I recently had coffee with a fellow entrepreneur and she voices the same concern. I suggested to brain-dump in an email then send it to me.. I'll write her blog for her. Sometimes as an entrepreneur you have so much swirling around in your head you just need to dump it somewhere. Well, this way some of that amazing creativity and knowledge can be used to educate your followers and build your business.


So the bottom line here is if you want to increase your presence and another way to stand out from your competition... start a blog.
